Summary: QuickPivot is a chrome extension developed by Hector Garcia CPA. Processes all data entirely on your device. No data is collected, transmitted, or shared with any external server, third party, or the extension developer.
1. What QuickPivot Does
QuickPivot is a Chrome extension that creates pivot tables from tabular data on web pages. It is optimized for QuickBooks Online (QBO) reports but works on any HTML table or CSV file. All data processing happens locally in your browser.
2. Data We Access
When you activate the extension on a web page, QuickPivot reads the following data from the active tab:
| Data Type | Purpose | Storage |
|---|---|---|
| HTML table content on the active page | Extract rows and column headers to build a pivot table | Local only |
| CSV file content (when you export from QBO) | Read exported CSV data to build a pivot table | Local only |
| Pivot configuration (field selections, filters, settings) | Remember your pivot setup so you can view results | Local only |
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
QuickPivot does not collect, transmit, or share any of the following:
- Personal information (name, email, address, phone number)
- Financial data (account numbers, transactions, balances)
- Authentication credentials (passwords, tokens, API keys)
- Browsing history or activity
- Cookies or website login sessions
- Analytics, telemetry, or usage statistics
- Any data to external servers, APIs, or third parties
4. How Data Is Stored
All data is stored using chrome.storage.local, which keeps data exclusively on your device. This includes:
- The extracted table/CSV data used to generate the pivot table
- Your pivot configuration (selected fields, filters, aggregation settings)
This data is automatically removed when you uninstall the extension or clear your browser’s extension data. No data is synced to the cloud or any remote server.
5. Network Activity
QuickPivot makes zero network requests. The extension does not contact any external server, API endpoint, analytics service, or CDN. All processing is performed entirely within your browser using local JavaScript.
6. Permissions Explained
| Permission | Why It Is Needed |
|---|---|
activeTab | Read table data from the page you are currently viewing when you click the extension |
storage | Save your pivot configuration and extracted data locally on your device |
scripting | Inject the data-extraction script into the active tab to read HTML tables |
downloads | Export pivot tables as CSV files to your Downloads folder |
host_permissions (<all_urls>) | Allow the content script to detect HTML tables and QBO report pages on any website |
7. Third-Party Services
QuickPivot does not integrate with, send data to, or receive data from any third-party service. There are no ads, analytics, crash-reporting tools, or external dependencies.
8. User Consent
Data extraction only occurs when you explicitly activate the extension by clicking the QuickPivot icon or the injected toolbar button. The extension does not passively collect, monitor, or record any data in the background.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
- Locally stored data persists only until you uninstall the extension or clear extension data in Chrome settings.
- Each new pivot session overwrites previously stored data.
- No data is retained on any external server because no data is ever transmitted.
10. Children’s Privacy
QuickPivot does not knowingly collect any data from children or any other users. No personal data is collected from anyone.
11. Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be published with a new “Last updated” date. Because QuickPivot does not collect any personal data, there is no way to notify users directly — please review this page periodically.
